AGE DIVISIONS
A dancers age is defined as of December 31, 2024.
Average age of a duet/trio and group is calculated by summing the ages of all dancers, dividing by the number of dancers in the routine, and dropping the decimal.
SCORING SYSTEM
All dancers will receive an award ribbon based on the score
MARKING SYSTEM
CHASSE prides itself on a fair and unbiased marking system.
The judges will score each entry based on the following criteria:
Technique — 50%
Performance — 20%
Choreography — 20%
Overall Appearance — 10%
OVERALL AWARDS
The top 10 scoring routines in each age divisions (MINI, JUNIOR) will be announced and Top scores (Top 3 for mini, Top 5 for junior) will presented with trophies/plaques. Multiple solos performed by a soloist are eligible to place multiple times for Overall Awards.
JUDGES CHOICE AWARDS
The award recipients will receive a certificate.

Chasse Dance dancers can qualify for this recognition by competing their routinues during compeititon season!
PRE-QUALIFYING
New This Year! Our 2025 Pre-Qualifying Competition will be a video submission. All Competition routines must be registered, and videos submitted by May 23rd, 2025.
DANCE STYLES
JAZZ — Primarily jazz technique, utilizing up-tempo music.
BALLET — Primarily ballet or pointe technique, including classical steps and movements.
HIP-HOP — Primarily hip-hop technique.
TAP — Primarily tap technique. Routines demonstrating clogging technique and style may not compete in the tap category.
CONTEMPORARY — A fusion of many jazz styles with a strong emphasis on modern technique.
LYRICAL — A combination of jazz and ballet techniques to slow music incorporating emotional and storytelling elements.
MUSICAL THEATRE — Any routine interpreting a song from a Broadway or Movie Musical.
ACRO / OPEN— Consists of all other categories: ethnic, acro/gymnastics, novelty, clogging, etc.
THE FINE PRINT
All attendees authorize the use of their images in photos and video for any and all advertising or promotional purposes for Chasse Dance.
Each dancer may submit as many routines as they would like to the Pre-Qualifying Competition , but only 1 solo & 2 duet/trio may compete at closing gala.
If a dancer is unable to attend, a credit voucher will be issued towards a future Chasse Dance event or class.
